I'm a pretty passionate Henri Matisse fan, and when I saw this new collection from Duro Ceramics, I couldn't resist. And if you know me at all, you know I was thrilled to see a butter dish with this design!

Summer on the table

This whole thing is so wonderfully summery: the turquoise bowl, the white lid with the brightly colored Matisse-esque cutouts. It's perfect for a very colorful or bright interior. I keep thinking of Australian cooking shows when I see this collection.

Handmade and decorated

The Collage tableware is handmade and decorated at Duro Ceramics. As you can see in the photos, it's all a bit bumpy and anything but smooth. It's delightfully laissez-faire, delightfully summery and Mediterranean. But... it's top quality and beautifully finished. Therefore, all of this tableware is dishwasher-safe, oven-safe, and, if it fits, microwave-safe. Please note: because it's handmade, not all bowls and plates are 100% round!

• Note: The bottom edge of the lid is unglazed. Because of this, the grease may seep under the glaze, creating a slightly darker stain. Given the pink decoration, this might be barely visible in this case, but I just wanted to mention it.
