Narrow horn napkin rings

Since I’ve been sharing the shop with Het Derde Servies, the demand for napkin rings has increased enormously. Long live living together :-) So, as soon as I come across napkin rings during a buying trip, I seize the opportunity immediately. The same goes for the Danish Hornevarefabrikken: because besides those cute salt, caviar, and egg spoons, they also make napkin rings from cow horns! Some are beautifully polished and these are a bit rougher, but still very nicely finished. A jewel for your set table.

I have purchased various horn napkin rings. In addition to the sturdy, solid rings, this is a simple, narrow, and elegant variant. Just like with all other napkin rings, they are 'assorted'. I don't know which colors I will receive, and I simply pick something when you order them. I do try to gather as much variety as possible so that everyone can recognize their own napkin ring. Let yourself be surprised! (Or come to the store to pick them out yourself)

All unique

Horn is a natural product, so all napkin rings have their own unique appearance. With napkin rings, that is of course not a problem; after all, you want everyone to recognize exactly their own napkin ring!
The color can vary from white-gray to black-brown with everything in between.

Craftsmanship and tradition

These horn napkin rings are made in Denmark. Hornevarefabrikken has existed for over 200 years and regularly reinvents itself, while maintaining the tradition of horn working. The craft of horn working is still highly regarded, but there is also a focus on innovation. These napkin rings were designed in 2015 by Sara Brunn Buch, one of the two owners of Hornevarefabrikken. There is a focus on people: a number of people facing barriers to employment are always working in the factory. Finally, strict attention is paid to ensuring that the horns used are by-products of meat processing.

Important tips for the use and maintenance of the horn spoons:

• Clean the napkin rings under lukewarm running water only if necessary, without soap or other cleaning agents.
• Dry the items immediately.
• Never put horn items in the dishwasher.
• Never soak horn objects in water for extended periods. You can submerge the items in cold or lukewarm water, but no more than that.
• Dry the items immediately.
• Never use hot water.
• Do not leave horn items in liquids, such as jam, salads, or dressings, for extended periods—it is fine for the duration of the meal.
• Do not leave horn objects in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
• Old horn objects such as old spoons, etc., should be given a thin layer of oil from time to time to prevent them from drying out.
