A lady came in looking for a very specific tablecloth. After quite a bit of Googling, we found it. And that was just the beginning!! Once I had discovered this brand, Couleur Nature, I was completely hooked. Every tablecloth is more colourful, surprising and different than the last! And look, a wonderful Christmas tablecloth with holly too. How lovely, isn't it just what you want for Christmas? 

About Couleur Nature Creation

A French family in the Pyrenees. Decades ago, Bruno Lamy visited Rajasthan and fell in love with the beautiful block-printed fabrics made there. Inspired by the block-printing technique and the character of the hand-printed fabrics, he returned to France and started working on them himself. His inspiration came from the colourful, flower-filled nature of southern France. And here, about 40 years later: figs and fig leaves on the table... still wonderfully French!

Block prints from India

Couleur Nature still designs the patterns in southern France. Then the tablecloths are printed in Jaipur by the same families who have been doing it for years. The blocks used for this are hand-carved from wood. Depending on the size of the patterns and the different colours in the design, an enormous number of stamps are applied to each tablecloth. You can imagine that even—or perhaps especially with such a large pattern—it takes a great deal of knowledge, skill and experience to produce such a beautiful product!

Holly, only rectangular and square

This tablecloth is available in many sizes. I don't have them all in stock yet, but I can have them sent from France very quickly. The tablecloth is not available in a round size. At Couleur Nature, they believe that the patterns they create look beautiful on a round or oval table. I have to say, I agree. The borders of these tablecloths are part of their character and good design. It is precisely these borders that look particularly beautiful on round and oval tables!

Runners & placemats

Not only tablecloths, but also runners and placemats (tea towels and aprons may be available later or on special request). This beautiful design is also available as a runner or a set of placemats. All are equally beautiful, with the same fig block print. The table runner is 45 x 180 cm, the placemats are 37 x 47 cm and are sold in pairs.

Washing and care instructions for Couleur Nature block-print tablecloths 

• Machine wash at a maximum of 30°C or 40°C using a delicate cycle to preserve the colours.
• Do not use bleach or whitening agents.
• Avoid fabric softener, as it can dull the colours over time.
• Iron on the reverse at a medium temperature (cotton/wool setting) to preserve the vibrancy of the print.
• If possible, let air dry in the shade
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as the colours may fade.
