Marimekko set of 2 tea towels Unikko black | 47 x 70 cm

The Marimekko tea towel you've been waiting for, featuring the black Unikko

Set of two identical Unikko poppy designs. The tea towels are covered in poppies, all in the same black-and-white colourway. Perfect for purists and the ultimate Scandinavian interior. What a wonderful design classic to add to your home!

The classic Unikko

There is even a wonderful story behind this classic Unikko design. Armi Ratia, the founder of the new Finnish brand, had forbidden the designers from using floral motifs, or rather, she had announced that she would never print floral designs on fabric. She was convinced that the beauty of flowers could not be captured in a 2D print. Designer Maija Isola was delightfully rebellious and created an entire series featuring this stylised poppy: Unikko. And the rest is history! Unikko is now more than 60 years old.
