Marimekko Oiva breakfast plate Ketunmarja little fox with pink accents | Ø 20 cm

Marimekko breakfast plate with little fox

Please note: this item is limited in availability and already sold out in Finland. If you like it, grab yours now ;-)

This Oiva breakfast plate features my favorite Marimekko animal, the Ketunmarja little fox. The breakfast plate is wonderfully solid, with a nice curved edge. Compared to most breakfast plates, it sits quite high above the table, which almost makes it look like it's floating. Very beautiful!

Super practical tableware

Sami Ruotsalainen laid the foundation for Marimekko's Oiva tableware. In his design, he considered not only aesthetics but, above all, usability—factors like stackability and its suitability for everyday use played an important role.

About the Ketunmarja pattern

This pattern is by Aino-Maija Metsola. She creates many designs for Marimekko, often featuring animals. There has already been a lynx and a hare, and this fox appeared previously in Marimekko's autumn and Christmas collections. On this plate, we have the little fox. It has appeared before, but it was more brown and red back then. Now, some fun Hubba Bubba pink has been added. The pattern tells the story of berries, a bird, and a fox... Well, you can imagine how that ends!

Stoneware, nice and sturdy

The entire Oiva dinnerware collection is made of stoneware, a sturdier material than earthenware. Perfect for daily use: it is dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe. Just make sure not to place the tableware directly from the freezer into a hot oven, as the material cannot withstand that.
