Tea towel with Marimekko icon in black, beige and white

Looking for a beautiful gift for purists, Scandi or Marimekko fans? How about this beautiful tea towel with the Unikko design in black and beige on crisp white? The tea towel is covered with the iconic poppies of the Finnish brand. Cheerfulness while drying! Plus, you'll have a beautiful design classic hanging in the kitchen.

The classic Unikko

There is even a beautiful story behind this classic Unikko design. Armi Ratia, the founder of Marimekko, had forbidden the designers of the new Finnish brand from using floral motifs, or rather, she had announced that she would never print fabrics with a floral motif. She was convinced that the beauty of flowers could not be captured in a 2D print. Designer Maija Isola was delightfully rebellious and created an entire series with this stylized poppy: Unikko. And the rest is history! Unikko is now 60 years old.
