Marimekko teapot in white with wooden details

A classic teapot, this Oiva teapot from Marimekko. It has a curved wooden handle and a wooden cap on the lid. I initially thought it would be lovely Finnish birch, but it turns out to be rubberwood.

Hidden under the lid is a stoneware tea strainer.

Everyone has their own teapot

You might be wondering why Marimekko doesn't offer larger teapots. I certainly asked them. The idea behind this 700ml teapot is that everyone has their own teapot with their own favorite flavor. Well, that's certainly possible!

Maintenance tips for this teapot

The handle is made of wood. Once it loses its shine and becomes dry, it's recommended to treat it with a light, neutral (olive) oil. Let the oil soak in overnight and repeat the treatment as the wood absorbs more oil. If it no longer absorbs the oil, wipe away any residue with a cloth or paper towel. Wash the teapot thoroughly after each use. Please note: hand wash only. This prevents tea stains from building up. Keep the handle and the cap on the lid as dry as possible during washing! The stoneware tea strainer is dishwasher safe.
