Stripes are hot

Stripes are all the rage right now. And stripes are also part of Marimekko. Paraati means "parade"—full of joy—and is a design by Fujiwo Ishimoto. He worked for Marimekko for decades and designed over 400 patterns! This Paraati pattern represents the joy of life.

Sustainable choice

Marimekko is becoming increasingly sustainable. Of course, they aim for the products they make to last forever, which, in my opinion, is the best start if you're a manufacturer. But they also work with the most sustainable raw materials possible. They're currently experimenting with all sorts of things. For example, these placemats are made from recycled polyester. So, they're just as easy to clean as Marimekko's other placemats, but they use a huge amount of water during production.

Removable placemats, very practical

These placemats are wipeable. Spilled something? Just wipe them down with a damp cloth. So they hardly need to be washed! Just let them dry thoroughly before stacking or rolling them up again.
