Reference to the masterpieces of Royal Delft

I especially love the idea behind this series. Royal Delft has a huge collection of iconic designs in their archive. Many of these designs are still hand-painted by their masters on their beautiful items today. This includes display bowls. Many of these items are true works of art. They are beautiful to look at and probably a nice investment piece if you know what I mean; in any case, it makes them inaccessible to the general public.

Transferware

I wrote 'transferring' above, which is precisely the crux behind these mugs. The display bowl that this Blue Master mug refers to could easily be something that is only hand-painted on commission. The mugs, on the other hand, are 'transferware'. This means that the images are applied to the porcelain like a sort of sticker. Afterwards, it is glazed and fired at a very high temperature. This makes your mug completely suitable for daily use. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. So you can enjoy using it to the fullest!
