Starting in the summer of 2025, Marimekko will have a new design in its collection: Tiara. A tiara is, of course, a crown; in this case, the exuberant Tiara pattern represents nature's crowning achievement. Lush branches, leaves, and flowers teem across the fabric.

Polished and completely up-to-date again

The Tiara design dates back to 2014 and was created by Erja Hirvi. For this 2025 collection, the colors have been refreshed and the pattern slightly adjusted. The beauty of this design is that it's always shaped to the item. The print on the tablecloth is all-over, so it doesn't matter whether you're looking from the left, right, front, or back: it's always perfect. For the plates and mugs, for example, the pattern is beautifully coordinated with the size and shape.

This tablecloth is easy to keep clean

These cotton tablecloths are screen-printed in-house at Marimekko in Helsinki. They're then treated with an acrylic coating. This allows you to easily wipe away spilled food and drinks with a damp cloth. This means the tablecloth almost never needs to be washed! If you do want to wash it, you can do so at 40 degrees Celsius. I recommend hanging it out while still wet and ironing it on the reverse side if necessary.

Sometimes a coating is better

A linen or cotton tablecloth is beautiful, of course, but for certain occasions or with certain guests, a tablecloth with a wipeable coating is a much better solution. Spilt a cup of hot chocolate? Spilled jam or sauce? Just wipe it down with a damp cloth and you're done!
