Marimekko Tiara Tablecloth with Acrylic Coating

From the summer of 2025, Marimekko will have a new design in its collection: Tiara. A tiara is, of course, a crown, and in this case, in the exuberant Tiara pattern, it represents nature's crowning achievement. Lush branches, leaves, and flowers teem across the fabric.

Dusted off and completely up to date again

The Tiara design dates back to 2014 and was created by Erja Hirvi. For this 2025 collection, the colors have been refreshed and the design slightly adjusted. The nice thing about this design is that it is always shaped to fit the item. The print on the tablecloth is 'all over,' meaning it doesn't matter if you look from left, right, front, or back: it always looks good. For plates and, for example, mugs, the pattern is beautifully adapted to the size and shape.

This tablecloth is easy to keep clean

These cotton tablecloths are screen-printed by Marimekko themselves in Helsinki. Afterwards, they receive a treatment with an acrylic coating. This ensures that spilled food and drinks can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. This way, the tablecloth hardly ever needs to be washed! If you do want to wash it, you can do so at 40 degrees. I would hang it wet and iron it on the back if necessary.

Sometimes a coating is better

A linen or cotton tablecloth is, of course, beautiful, but for some occasions or with some dining companions, a tablecloth with a wipeable coating is a much better solution. Knocked over a cup of hot chocolate? Spilled jam or sauce? A damp cloth over it and you're done!
