Daily Variations – a day of color by Vibeke Rohland

As part of Marimekko's Artist in Residence program, Danish textile artist Vibeke Rohland strips away the superfluous, searching for the pure essence of form, color, and contrast. With her Daily Variations design, she dives deep into the soul of color and stripe: how shades seek each other out, challenge one another, and complement each other.

The result? A pattern that captures the shifting moods of a single day – the rhythm, the sounds, the light that changes from hour to hour. In short: a mug with a story. Do you recognize a (sunny) morning in it too?
