Large blue-beige dotted Räsymatto mug from Marimekko

If you aren't a fan of black and white, but love the understated combination of blue and beige, we have just the thing for you: the mega 4-deciliter mug featuring the beige-blue-and-white Räsymatto pattern. This Marimekko tableware is called Oiva and consists of countless items. Yet everything always has the same size and shape. This allows you to mix and match everything while still maintaining a sort of unity. In our house, we fight over these lovely 4-deciliter mugs. Personally, I think they are the nicest and most pleasant of all the different cups.

About the Räsymatto design

In addition to the best-known design from the Finnish brand Marimekko, the Unikko, Kleuroptafel also has the Räsymatto collection as a staple in its assortment. In 2026 and 2027, Marimekko is offering its retailers the exclusive opportunity to offer this colored version of Räsymatto. Not beads, but a rag rug!

I first thought these black dots were beads on a string. But it is something quite different. In Scandinavia, rag rugs are very popular, especially in summer cottages. The Räsymatto motif is part of the Siirtolapuutarha series, in which city and nature meet. These vacation homes with rag rugs are a beautiful example of that. And take a closer look at the pattern... it is a stylized representation of a rag rug; the 'beads' are the strips of rag fabric bulging between the weaving threads.
