The print that runs across the outside of the bowl tells the story of the Siirtolapuutarha, or city garden. A place where the bustling city and flourishing nature meet. In this case, it's primarily flowers and (forgotten) vegetables.

The Siirtolapuutarha design

This design is from 2009 and was created by Maija Louekari. Another element of this extensive collection is the acrylic-coated tablecloth of the same name, as well as the entire Räsymatto (rag rug) series with black dots on a white background. These various items all combine beautifully, precisely as Marimekko intended with its Oiva tableware.
