Blue removable tablecloth with Blackbird and berries

Blue cotton tablecloth with an acrylic coating, designed by Danish artist Susanne Schjerning, who often works with silhouettes of plants, flowers, and animals. In this case, a blackbird in a rowan tree. The berries are dark red, the blackbird is grayish-white, and the rowan branches are petrol on a light blue background. Despite the coating and anti-slip backing, this tablecloth drapes smoothly around the table and doesn't feel sticky or clammy like oilcloth.

Old love never dies

I once started my webshop with Paul Smith's beautiful Dots bowls for Stelton, breadboards from Remember, and tablecloths by Danish designer Susanne Schjerning. Removable tablecloths, with an anti-slip backing. And beautiful, colorful designs, of a kind I've honestly never encountered since.

Long lifespan

Every Ascension Day, we go camping with friends. Many friends with many children. At one point, I brought the removable Danish tablecloths that I, of course, also had in my cupboard, for use on the picnic tables at the campsite. And last week, I washed them again. You can, of course, wipe them with a damp cloth, which is enough for normal use ;-) After the camping weekend, they go into the wash. Then back into the cellar, because my children have outgrown these tablecloths by now. But I haven't yet. I suddenly wanted to buy them again!

Long search, and lo and behold

It wasn't easy to find them again. The company that supplied them to me 15 years ago went bankrupt a few years ago. Through Susanne Schjerning herself, I found the new supplier. And now they are on their way from Denmark. I'm as happy as a child!

Easy to clean this tablecloth

These beautiful cotton tablecloths are provided with an acrylic coating. This ensures that you can easily wipe off spilled food and drinks with a wet cloth. This way, the tablecloth almost never needs to be washed! If you do want to wash it, you can do so at 40 degrees. Do not spin and hang it wet. Ironing is possible on the top, but with a dry tea towel in between.

Anti-slip on the underside

The underside is provided with a thin anti-slip layer. Super clever because mainly small tablecloth pullers sit at tables covered with these tablecloths. You won't easily pull this tablecloth out from under your sandwich plate like Hans Kazan!

Sometimes a coating is better

A linen or cotton tablecloth is, of course, beautiful, but for some occasions or with some table companions, a tablecloth with a removable coating is a much better solution. Glass of chocolate milk knocked over? Jam or sauce spilled? A wet cloth over it and you're done!

A few warnings to keep the cloth looking good for a long time

Spilled curry or tomato sauce? Immediately put a drop of undiluted Dreft on the stain and wipe clean with a warm dishcloth. The same applies to coffee and red wine. You can still wipe off the rest of the stains the next morning. Wax crayons and pencils work, Edding markers don't. And don't leave these tablecloths outside permanently, otherwise, the weather will get to them.
