Are you, like me, a fan of DIY table decorations? These round candlesticks are a fantastic base for a DIY centerpiece for your table or, for example, your kitchen island (if it's neater than mine :-). Beautiful, sturdy, tall candlesticks on a raised metal ring. The sturdy base is really nice, thanks to a ring along the bottom.

Do you know the principle of the Advent candlestick?

In Scandinavia and German-speaking areas, an Advent candlestick or an Advent wreath with candles (for example, also hanging horizontally from pretty ribbons) is a more common concept. It begins on the first Sunday of December, which this year is December 1st. Then you light the first candle, and each Sunday you light a new candle. This is how you slowly count down to Christmas.

But also for Easter or just like that!

Because of their basic look, these wreaths are also perfect for an Easter table or other occasions. For Easter, consider decorating with moss and small balls. You can attach them to the rings with floral wire. Perhaps place a round tray underneath to keep the wreath moist.

This candlestick is nice and sturdy. I've often tried to hang homemade straw wreaths with skewers and candle holders horizontally from a few ribbons. Sometimes it works, but more often it's a disaster :-) This candlestick—especially the largest one—also hangs very well.

You can buy these three wreaths together, of course, but I can also imagine one being enough. That's why I'm offering them separately. You could also buy three and give two as a gift once you've used them up! The smallest one is 25 cm in diameter (and that includes the cups). The middle one is 30 cm, and the largest one is 35 cm in diameter. They're all the same height, 8 cm.

Styling tips

Go for green... a roll of that handy flower-binding wire and a few branches of ivy, laurel, spruce, pine, or conifer. Add a few snowberries or holly with red berries, and you're ready to tie! Or are you going for color? Check your thrift store for "yucky Christmas ornaments"—you know, all those ugly colors bunched together. The trick is to combine them in abundance. Bunch them together with sturdy ribbon, wire, or zip ties and then attach them to the metal ring.
