Reference to the masterpieces of Royal Delft

I especially love the concept behind this series. Royal Delft has a huge collection of iconic designs in its archives. Many of those designs are still hand-painted by their masters on their beautiful items to this day. Many of those items are true works of art. They are beautiful to look at and probably a nice investment piece if you know what I mean, but it certainly makes them inaccessible to the general public.

Transferware

I wrote 'transferring' above, which is precisely the crux of these mugs. The Satyr vase that this Blue Master mug refers to is hand-painted on commission. The mugs are 'transferware'. This means that the images are applied to the porcelain like a kind of sticker. It is then glazed and fired at a very high temperature. This makes your mug completely suitable for daily use. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. So you can use it to the fullest!
