Reference to the masterpieces of Royal Delft

I especially love the idea behind this series. Royal Delft has a huge collection of iconic designs in its archives. Many of these designs are still hand-painted by their masters on their beautiful pieces. Cabinet bowls are one of them. Many of these items are true works of art. They're beautiful to look at and probably a nice investment, if you know what I mean. It certainly makes them unattainable for the general public.

Transferware

I wrote "transferable" above, which is the crux of these mugs. The cabinet bowl to which this Blue Master mug refers could only be hand-painted to order. These mugs, however, are "transfer ware." This means the images are applied to the porcelain like a sticker. It is then glazed and fired at a very high temperature. This makes your mug perfectly suitable for everyday use. It's dishwasher and microwave safe. So you can use it to the fullest!
