Marimekko breakfast plate Siirtolapuutarha blue or pink | Ø 20 cm

Marimekko breakfast plate with blue - beige or pink - beige dotted pattern

This Oiva breakfast plate features Maija Louekari's Räsymatto motif. It may look like a string of beads, but it is a stylized depiction of a quintessential Scandinavian phenomenon: the rag rug. It is a solid plate with a beautiful sloping rim. Compared to most breakfast plates, it sits fairly high above the table, making it look almost as if it is floating. Very beautiful! But the best part: the dots are not black, but a combination of blue and beige shades or pink and beige shades. It is hard to choose!

Please note!

This is an edition especially for resellers of Marimekko. These plates are not sold through the official Marimekko stores and webshop. I can no longer reorder them in Finland, so if you think it is cool, do not hesitate for long.

Super practical tableware

Sami Ruotsalainen laid the foundation for the Oiva tableware by Marimekko. In the design, he not only took aesthetics into account, but also usability, especially stackability and the fact that it had to be suitable for daily use, played an important role.

Mix and match with this breakfast plate

Furthermore, Ruotsalainen focused on the possibility of combining the tableware from the very beginning. That is why there are fixed shapes for the different tableware pieces that return again and again - only with different colors and motifs each time. And you can then complement them with the basic, white Oiva tableware pieces.

Stoneware, nice and sturdy

The entire Oiva tableware is made of stoneware, a sturdier material than earthenware. Great for daily use: it can go in the dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer. Just make sure that the tableware does not go directly from the freezer into a hot oven. The material cannot withstand that.
