I was thrilled to finally see a breath of fresh air in the Marimekko collection! These light blue oven mitts add a subtle splash of color to your kitchen.

Marimekko is constantly exploring ways to create more sustainable products with a reduced environmental impact. These oven mitts, featuring the iconic poppies from the Finnish brand Marimekko, are made of unbleached cotton. This means they're not pure white; you'll notice a bit more texture in the fabric. The light blue is also a natural dye, Finnish woad, a kind of Nordic indigo*.

Please note: The light blue may fade slightly during use and the first few washes.

The oven mitts are lined with 100% polyester and offer excellent insulation. They also feature a handy, wide loop.

* Woad is a plant in the cruciferous family. Its native habitat is the Eurasian steppes. A blue dye called pastel can be extracted from the plant. This woad blue was used in the cloth industry to dye wool blue until the advent of indigo.
