Reference to the masterpieces of Royal Delft

Because just look at this Dutch landscape, look at how lovely it is! But I also really love the idea behind this series. Royal Delft has a huge collection of iconic designs in its archive. Many of these designs are still hand-painted by their masters on their beautiful items to this day. Many of those items are true works of art. They are beautiful to look at and probably a nice investment piece if you know what I mean; in any case, it makes them inaccessible to the general public.

Transferware

I wrote 'transferring' above, which is precisely the crux of these mugs. The Satyr vase that this Blue Master mug refers to is hand-painted on commission. The mugs are 'transferware'. This means that the images are applied to the porcelain like a kind of sticker. Then it is glazed and fired at a very high temperature. This makes your mug completely suitable for daily use. It is dishwasher and microwave safe. So you can enjoy using it to the fullest!
