I absolutely love this one with the witty birds on it. But I especially love the idea behind this series. Royal Delft has a huge collection of iconic designs in its archives. I wrote above about "transferring," which is the crux of these mugs. The plates, covered pots, and vases that the Blue Master mugs reference are all hand-painted. The mugs are "transfer ware," meaning the images are applied to the porcelain like stickers. Then it's glazed and fired at a very high temperature. This makes your mug perfectly suitable for everyday use. It's dishwasher and microwave safe. So you can use it to the fullest!
