Black week
Bad timing, because these mugs (and matching breakfast plates) would have been incredibly relevant if I'd shared them yesterday, with the freshly fallen snow. But then again, I was busy busy busy with the Christmas kick-off event in the store. In the morning, I tidied up the store, then went to the Iris van Herpen exhibition (Highly recommended!! Even the men loved it!) and had a lovely lunch. After that, Hannie and I were off to a great start for Christmas.
It's great that so many friendly people showed up despite the cold and the problems with public transport. Thanks to everyone who came (and there are glasses ready to be picked up!).
Today is November 24th, in a month it will be Christmas Eve and my firstborn will celebrate her 18th birthday. What, 18 years??!! But it's not that far yet...
This week—you really can't ignore it—it's Thanksgiving on Thursday, and Black Friday the day after. And this year, I'm not participating. Those who have followed me for a while know I'm not averse to a good discount every now and then, and honestly, that opportunity will come around.
Attention to beauty
I'm choosing to focus solely on all the cool, beautiful, and valuable items in my collection right now. Things you buy (or add to your wish list) because you love them. Now and ten years from now. That's also how I try to choose my purchases; if you do choose to buy something new, I want something that will last a long time, both in terms of longevity and the enjoyment you get from it.
But hey, I'm still happily taking advantage of Black Friday!
This week, the black and white items from my shop are in the spotlight. They're generally overlooked because of all the colorful things clamoring for attention.
Black and white: ASA Snow Tracks
I'm starting the week with: ASA Snow Tracks. As fresh in the store as snow on the slopes! Last year (was it last year?) I also had a few items from this charming series. They were gone like snow in the sun. The naive scenes in black pen are already a feast for the eyes, but this tableware is also something you have to touch. The 'Snow Tracks' visible on each item are also ground into the porcelain. A nice little extra.
A great Saint Nicholas or Christmas gift for winter sports fans and black-and-white lovers, of course! For this series, the rule is (for now): gone = gone.
